The distillery is just outside the Speyside region in the North East of Scotland making it a Highland distillery

It was a part of the life and times of Nelson and the old navy so aptly described in the novels of Patrick OBrian

The peels then macerate in neutral alcohol for ~ 10 days before it is distilled

All of its products are distilled in "Chester Copperpot"--their 500-gallon column/pot-still
